Samaritan received this letter from a woman named Camille who, along with members of her family, took on the role of caregiver for her mother:
Hello:
My mother, Anna Cavaliere, was recently enrolled as a hospice patient for a very brief period of time, from July 7th to July 11th, 2008. Although the time was short, the presence of the hospice staff made such a difference to our family in those few days.
As the process began, I felt overwhelmed and unsure if I would be able to handle this situation at home, but the nurses and social worker gave such wonderful support that I realized that we (my family and I) could do this with their help. Patricia, Ellen and Susan, in my brief association with them, were professional, competent, and superbly compassionate, and we are very grateful to them...
Once again, our gratitude to all of you at Samaritan Hospice. We chose you based on your reputation, and found it well deserved.
Sincerely,
Camille C. Introcaso
